Aliko Dangote is the wealthiest person in Africa, with an estimated net worth of US$28.1 billion as of 19 March 2025, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, and $23.8 billion according to Forbes, primarily from his Cement and sugar business.
Having been first listed on the Forbes Billionaires List in 2008, with a networth of $3.3 billion. His wealth dropped by 2009 to $2.5 billion, and subsequently, $2.1 billion in 2010.
His wealth increased to $13.8 billion in 2011 after he founded the Dangote Cement.
Dangote hold a share of 86 percent of Dangote Cement as well as in other traded holding like NASCON Allied Industries, Dangote Sugar, and the United Bank for Africa.
According to Nairametrics, his wealth decreased by over $1 billion in 2024 as a result of naira's low market value and moderation in the value of his equity holdings. By September 2024, Dangote regained his position as the richest man in Africa after being surpassed by Johann Rupert in January of the same year.

Globally, he is the 91st richest person and the wealthiest Black individual, with a net worth of nearly $25 billion as of September 2025.
In 1977, Dangote founded the Dangote Group, a small company that traded commodities; importing sugar, salt, and food products. In 1981, he founded Dangote Nigeria Limited and Blue Star Services; both imports rice, and bulk materials like steel and aluminum products.
Following the large sales by the company, and high demand for cement, Dangote founded Dangote Cement, which faced competition from Lafarge, a French cement manufacturing company known for importing cement.
Dangote's political activities and views have made him a public figure in Africa. He is also known for his influence on the Economy of Nigeria, hence, he was awarded the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger in 2011 by Goodluck Jonathan and listed in Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in 2014.
Dangote was a member of President Jonathan's economic management team and job creation committee in 2011.
Dangote has four children and five grandchildren. He took his family to Walt Disney World in 2012.
As of 2023, Dangote Cement has generated about $3.7 billion in revenue, and Dangote Sugar Refinery has been ranked as one of the largest sugar producers in Nigeria and Africa. The Dangote Group is a Nigerian multinational industrial conglomerate, founded by Aliko Dangote.
It is the largest conglomerate in West Africa and one of the largest on the African continent. The group employs more than 30,000 people, generating revenues of more than US$4.1 billion in 2017.

It's only the confidence that express humility. Real confidence is not to enter a room and think that you are superior. Real confidence is to enter a room and think that everybody is equal.
I decided to incorporate my vast knowledge and expertise from my African roots with a mixture of various men's & women's style information that has lead into great simplistic fashion aspirations that people desire worldwide.
There is always something to be grateful for and different angles from which to look at things.
Gratitude is a creative and building perspective and will always bring more good to you and empower you.
The opposite also makes sense. Externally, be confident, to gain more trust. Internally, be humble, to seek new knowledge and cover blind spots.

Do not be arrogant. Do not be timid. Exude a humble confidence.
Confidence is the result of a lot of practice (in your field or activity). Humility is the result of being honest with yourself, that you're not better (or worse) than anyone else.
Humble + confident = self-confidence. Pride + confident = overconfidence.

Everything which I have now was once in my wish list. I was always dreaming to own a startup. Now I have. Yet, most of the times i forget to appreciate it. Same with my lifestyle now. I should be more happier than ever before.
People in the first world often don't know how good they have it.
If we did not compare, we'd fail to see and fight injustice. Even primates compare (look up the grape experiment). Comparing is as natural as breathing. It has an evolutionary purpose. It is not good or bad.
What you have can no longer be in your possession moments from now. Rejoice in the present and think for the future. Comparison is the mother of depression. Don't fall for her allure.
Constantly comparing yourself and achievements to other people is a good recipe for feeling like crap all the time.
